Choe-gal

David Choe signed at Giant Robot last night. I feel like a silly goose for being so star struck. I have hella work to do and a long ways to go to have a career like his, and I do include the time in jail and breaking into houses. The signing was for the release of his first limited edition wood figure. It is very beautiful. I'm blessed to have a love who will drive for an hour to drive another hour and buy me one of too many gifts, impromptu.

1) I asked him to draw something on the box and had no ideas, so that's me, I guess. 2) Choe Gal! Thank you boyfriend. 3) Back of head, signed. 4) The newest issue of GR; pick it up homies.

Old candids

Last year, I drew the people in my classes, not knowing their names. Now that I do, I kind of feel a little weird. Not weird enough to stop doing it, though.

This is an ending

Someone asked me why my blog isn't "political", considering, I suppose, the ways in which I live my life and engage with those around me. I didn't know how to respond then. All I can say now is that my politics are everchanging and right now, it's important to me to make beautiful things. Or to at least try my best.
